Tortilla de patatas – pre-boiled potato version
Tortilla de patatas – pre-boiled potato version.

Servings in this printout: 4
Ingredients
- 600 g raw peeled potato
- 55 g peeled onion
- 330 g egg without shell
- 67.5 g olive oil
- 0.5 g ground black pepper
- 1,000 g water for the stated cooking method
- salt to taste
Method
- Boil 600 g raw peeled potato in 1000 g water until cooked, then drain. No unmeasured leaching loss is deducted from the raw-potato macros.
- Soften 55 g onion in 67.5 g olive oil. Add the cooked potato, 330 g egg without shell and 0.5 g ground black pepper.
- Cook just until the egg is fully set; do not cook the potatoes for a long time in oil. Divide all food and oil into four portions. This is the pre-boiled potato version.

Confidence · Low Some values or assumptions in the calculation are uncertain.
The estimate combines ingredient carbohydrate and GI data with modeled assumptions. The calculation also uses comparison values from similar foods or food groups.
Estimate details and sources ↗
How was the estimate calculated?
The serving’s GL is calculated from ingredient data. Confidence describes the evidence behind the calculation. Your blood sugar response may vary.
- Comparison value
- Value used in the model
All available carbohydrate is included, with no small portions omitted. This is a modeled ingredient estimate, not a measured meal response. Biological uncertainty has not been quantified.

Notes
The GL is a modeled ingredient-sum estimate with low confidence, not a measured meal response. All available carbohydrate is included. No biological uncertainty interval is known. The photograph illustrates serving; unlisted side dishes are excluded from the nutrition and GL estimates. All listed edible ingredients, sauce and fat are consumed. Handle cooking water as instructed; no unmeasured cooking or leaching losses are deducted.
The GI 66 analogy is for pre-boiled potato, not prolonged oil cooking. This recipe ID is separate from the previously published Tortilla española breakfast recipe.
